KETCH STUDIOS

Sing Healthy Sing Happy

As a qualified Voice instructor, I offer my services to people of all ages in Utah County. No matter your level or experience, I’m here to help you find your natural and healthy voice.

MY STORY

My name is Abby Ketch and I'm a Lyric Soprano from Alpine, Utah. I recently graduated from The University of Utah with a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance and I previously graduated from Brigham Young University as a Vocal Performance major and a Spanish minor.  I have a passion for finding freedom and release in the voice as I teach and perform.

I began studying voice in 2009 and have dedicated the majority of my studies to classical repertoire. During my time at BYU, I studied with Dr. Diane Thueson Reich and Professor Darrell Babidge. During my time at the University of Utah I studied with Dr. Robert Breault. I love seeing my voice students grow and develop in their skills and performance.

Previously, I sang with Lyric Opera Theater as Suor Genovieffa in Puccini's Suor Angelica, The Plaintiff in Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury,  The Mother in Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors, and as Countess Ceprano in Verdi's Rigoletto.  I also sang with BYU Opera Theatre as the Third Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, as Dulcina in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, and as chorus in Handel’s Theodora. I participated in over seven different opera scenes with both Lyric Opera Theater and BYU Opera Scenes. I also sang supporting roles in Lehár’s The Merry Widow with the Utah Vocal  Arts Academy Summer Opera Festival. My collegiate choral experience includes singing with BYU Singers for 2 years and BYU Women's Chorus for 2 years.

In addition to singing, I grew up playing the cello, teaching swimming lessons, and participating in the high jump in track and field. I enjoy cooking, exercising, and spending time with my husband, Logan.
